Sealing socket with custom healing abutment in case of immediate posterior implant placement: A case report
Ghada Neji, Mohamed Tlili, Raki Selmi, Mootaz Mlouka, Mohamed Salah Khalfi, and Faten Ben Amor

Replacing a hopeless molar with a dental implant is one of the most common treatment modalities in implant dentistry. However, immediate implant post-extraction in the posterior region requires managing the bone gap and ensuring primary closure of the socket. To address this anatomical consideration, several authors have proposed using a custom abutment to seal the socket after immediate implant placement, maintain soft tissue contour, and stabilize the surrounding tissues. For example, the “Sealing Socket Abutment” (SSA) enhances the anatomical emergence profile, which facilitates the biological, prosthetic, and aesthetic integration of the future supra-implant prosthesis. A 32-year-old female patient in good general health consulted the Outpatient and Implantology Department of the dental clinic in Monastir, Tunisia, for the extraction of the root tip of the left first mandibular molar (tooth number 36) and subsequent implant rehabilitation. The patient’s medical history was unremark

Efficacy of Photobiomodulation in Accelerating Orthodontic Tooth Movement: A Systematic Review of Literature
Houssem Hmida, Nadia Madhi, Wiem Ben Amor, Ines Dallel, Samir Tobji, Adel Ben Amor

Aim and background: This systematic review aimed to investigate the efficacy of photobiomodulation (PBM) on the acceleration of orthodontic tooth movement (OTM). Review methods: An extensive electronic search for randomized control trials via Medline (via PubMed), The Cochrane Controlled Clinical Trials Register, and Science Direct up to October 15, 2023 was done. Hand searching was performed for relevant journals. Reference articles were retrieved and exported to Zotero software. The risk of bias was assessed using Version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials (RoB 2). Results: A total of 14 articles were considered for systematic review. Most of the studies arrived at the consensus that photobiomodulation (PBM) indeed accelerates the pace of tooth movement and significantly diminishes the time required for achieving proper tooth alignment. Conclusion: The synthesis of available evidence in our analysis reveals a substantial body of research suggesting a positive e

Tooth Autotransplantation: A Systematic Review of the Literature
Maroua Garma, Lotfi Boufaroua, Afef Slim, Sameh Sioud, Hajer Hentati, Jamil Selmi

Introduction: Tooth auto transplantation is a proposed alternative to missing teeth replacement. Various cases of this technique are reported, Consequently, many benefits, limits and outcomes of tooth auto transplantation are discussed in the literature. The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review of the literature to highlight advantages and disadvantages of this option, it’s outcomes and different influencing factors. Materials and Methods: A Medline search was conducted via PubMed from 2010 to March 2022. Mesh key words were used and combined with different Boolean operator. Results: The electronic search led to 231 articles. After activating filters, duplicates removal and respecting inclusion and exclusion criteria, 31 articles were selected for the review. Discussion: According to this review, tooth auto transplantation is a well-documented technique. Various influencing factors were reported and discussed. It was approved by the majority of authors due to i

Management of Soft Tissue Defects Around Single Implants: A Systematic Review of the Literature
Haithem Moussa, Wafa Nasri,Rania Gargouri, Afif Bouslema

Objectives: The aim of this systematic review was to assess the effectiveness of the available techniques for the management of peri‐implant soft tissue defects around single implants in the anterior region. Material and Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed (MEDLINE), Web of Science (all databases), and Cochrane, using keywords and MeSH terms related to the topic. This systematic review included prospective interventional studies with a minimum of 10 patients and at least 6 months of follow‐up. Results: A total of 13 articles were included, with eight focusing on outcomes related to buccal soft tissue dehiscence coverage procedures and the remaining five investigating interventions aimed at augmenting soft tissue thickness. Coronally advanced flap in combination with connective tissue graft was the most effective technique for buccal soft tissue dehiscence coverage in the medium and long term. In terms of increasing soft tissue thickness, both connective tiss

Impact of haptic simulator in prosthodontics training during preclinic dental education: a systematic review protocol
Oumaima Tayari , Cyrine Sahli, Jamila Jaouadi

Prosthodontics significantly impacts oral health-related quality of life, especially oral comfort, functions, aesthetics, and overall well-being. This discipline is grounded in a solid academic and evidence-based understanding of fundamental principles for managing dental diseases and aims to restore the health of teeth and supporting tissues and compensate missing ones. Dental education is evolving quickly with the rise of digital dentistry, especially in prosthodontics. Integrating augmented reality simulations and haptic feedback has significantly advanced this transformation. This systematic review protocol intends to determine the effectiveness of haptic simulators in prosthodontics training during preclinical dental education.
